There's less than 20 minutes left of 2013.
Even though we had several babysitter offers, we decided to stay home with our kids.
New Year's Eve usually isn't a big deal for me. Sure, I've gone out and had some pretty memorable nights (River Falls' bars stay open 24 hours on New Year's!!), but really I'm not a huge fan.
Everywhere is super busy. Everyone is super crazy. If I'm not one of them, it's not nearly as fun.
I'm not big on resolutions. I made the same one - write neater - each every year of my childhood.
Exercise more and lose some weight - each year of my adulthood.
I'm over all of it. (Although I'd still like to write neater and lost some weight - for the record.)
However, tonight is pretty bittersweet.
It's the end of the Year of the Baby.
I've noticed this little baby has grown to be bigger than the size of an average one year old.
Today I noticed walking through all the baby clothes I no longer had a single child who I could fit into anything of the sort.
I bought Brecken a couple Birthday outfits today and they are 24 months.
After New Year's Day tomorrow, the last first he'll have is Valentine's Day. (And Martin Luther King Jr. Day ((which I love as a matter of fact)) Mark pointed out).
I love that Year of the Baby. It's so magical. It's so overwhelming...in a good way this time.
2014 will be Victoria's Luckiest Year, she tells us. She was born on the 14th, so "obviously" 2014 will be her lucky year. I can't wait to hear all about how lucky (and I'm sure, unlucky, parts of the year) will be for her!
Whether we want it or not, here it comes.......
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
