Bad Word Police

I live with a member of the Bad Word Police.  She's about 31 pounds and 36" but she's tough.  She can hear a bad word rooms away.  From the back seat when I'm on the phone.  And the worse things is that bad words I'm talking about are the 'H' word. . .hate or the 'S' word.  . .sucks.
Of course I try not to use the words but sometimes they do slip out when I'm speaking to another adult when I don't think little ears are listening.  Which apparently she's like Santa and hears everything.  Sometimes she thinks she hears a bad word and I go back in my mind of the last few sentences I said and everything is appropriate.  But she's always right, so you might as well just apologize and move on.  Because she's certain of what she heard.

It's rough stuff living with a member of the Bad Word Police.

Manners Manners

My two and a half year old little boy uses his manners consistently without reminders now.  It warms my heart to hear please and thank you without telling him.  This morning he walks to my bedside at 6:10am with his arms outstretched for me to lift him and he said, "Good morning mom."  He's a sweet sweet little boy.

Half Birthday

Our little girl is 4.5 today!  The over the top mom I am, my daughter woke to a balloon and streamers in her room.  Her chair decorated in the kitchen with a Scooby table cloth and a Happy Birthday banner.  She loves it!  They had donuts after their oatmeal with candles.

I have conferences tonight so I wanted to make the morning special for her.  Now let's hope she doesn't convince preschool it really is her bday!

Super Cute Kid Story Ahead

Tonight as I was giving the kids a bath we listened to the CD that has lullabies and Victoria's name in each song.  I used to listened to that CD several times a day when she was an infant.  I love it.  I brings so many baby memories rushing back.

Christian was dried and on his ways to his train track.

I was washing Victoria's hair and I told her that long ago before I was a mommy I dreamed of having daughter.  She looked right in my eyes.  I had all her attention.  I continued to tell her I dreamt of a little girl who had big blue eyes and long blonde hair.  I wanted a daughter who loved to learn and. . . then she grabbed my face in her little hands and said, "Wait!  Your dream came true!!"  And gave my three little pecks on the lips.  I couldn't help but beam and she said, "When I was in your belly I dreamed of the best best best best best best best mommy in the whole world.  And my dream came true too!!  Aren't we the luckiest?"

It was such a sweet moment doing something as mundane as washing her hair.  I hope I never forget it.

Many Ups and Downs Of My Day

Up #1: Christian waited until 6am to come and cuddle.  Oooohhh I love that 20 minutes in the morning with his little arms wrapped around my neck.

Down #1: Christian pooped all over the carpet downstairs.  He's really (really seriously) potty trained without a diaper on.  He poops and pees in the toilet when he doesn't wear a diaper.  But apparently making a train track comes before stopping to go in the toilet.

Down # 2: Cleaning it all up.  V thought it was her duty to give him the business.  When I told her it wasn't any of her business she replied, "I think it is.  I am the big sister you know."  Yes, yes we all know.

Down #3: Arrived at school to find Bob the Fish dead ALREADY!  I just bought him on Thursday!  I looked like he kicked the bucket right after I turned off the lights on Friday too.

Up #2: Had a good mtg before school.

Down #4: A woman asked me at school when I am due.  Ohhh, that hurt!

Up #3: Discovered the main highway to get us to the gym is OPEN!!!!!!  It's been one lane since spring!!

Up #4: Actually worked out at the gym (see down #4) that we pay a small fortune for each and every month.

Down # 5: THREE glasses of spilled milk at dinner.  One doesn't phase me.  Two I give verbal reminders and push all milk away from the edge of the table.  But three in 20 minutes, come on people!!!!

Up #5: Both children were angels putting to bed and they were sleeping peacefully within minutes of walking out of their rooms.

I'm going to stop there with the ups and downs of my day because they're even.  If I keep going they may tip one way.
