Birthday Present Complete

While I was sleeping last night I realized I had yet to get started on Victoria's BFF's bday present!  The party is only seven days away.  Mark got up with Christian (V was a grandma and grandpa's house) and I got to sleep from 9pm to 7:30am with minimal wake ups.  So I had begun the 12X12 scrapbook by 8am.  I took a break to take a one hr bath and 20 minutes for breakfast.  At 3:30the mission was complete.  The whole book is done.  What a relief!  I know she and her Mommy are going to love it.  I can't wait to give it to her (them) on Sunday.

I also booked V's birthday party today.  It's so hard to believe everything we plan from here on out we will be a family of FIVE!

My Lil' Mystery Reader

Victoria has been a Mystery Reader in the Month of February since she was two years old.  Every year she comes in and sits on the Red Chair and 'reads' a book to my class.  The first year she brought a Scooby Doo book and pushed the buttons so it made sound and brought Scooby Snacks.  Last year, she was in kindergarten and actually read a whole back to my second grade class.

I love how her little feet hang off the end of the chair.

One year later.
Look how she's grown!
Same crazy After Recess Hair
but she's changed so much in that year.
This year she chose to read a non-fiction book about Penguins.
She did a great job and my class liked it.

I wonder how old she'll be until she doesn't want to be a Mystery Reader any more.

March is Here!

As a family, we've been waiting for March for a long time!
Eight full months to be exact!  It's finally here!

Now it's just a matter of days........

If You Don't Have Anything Nice to Say...

Dare I say I'm on the upswing of whatever has gotten the better of me this last week???
Knock on wood.
I will be eating the BARE MINIMUM today - as I have conferences tonight.  Yesterday I had to leave a guided reading group to run to the bathroom.  6-7 year olds are understanding - but parents - not so much.  I slept from 8:30-5:30.  I should be feeling good!

In the last month and especially the last couple weeks people have been saying strange things to me.  Of course I get a dozen, "How are you feeling?" a day.  I get half a dozen, "No baby yet?" a day.  But the other day I said, "Hi.  I'm glad to see you!  How are you?" to one of my subs.  She responded after looking me up and down, "A lot better than you are!"  I was speechless.  What the hell does that mean? I wasn't even sick then.  I was actually in the middle of teaching math.

The same day I went for an ultrasound and I stepped out of the elevator and this really ghetto lady started saying how huge I was and she hoped she didn't get as big as me.  I smiled and raised my eye brows and said, "Well you just might."  Then she turns to her partner and said, "Let's she if she can even sit down."  HELLO!  I'm standing right here you rude ass!  I sat and picked up a magazine and wondered if she was able to read.  Idiot!

A couple days later I was greeting students in the hall cheerfully telling them I was glad they were there and a mom walks up to me and says, "Oh my!  You look so uncomfortable!"  Really?  Walking around smiling greeting students and I look uncomfortable??  I wasn't leaning against a wall or had my hands on my back or anything.  Just standing up for crying out loud.

My advice to all out there:  If you don't have anything nice don't say anything at all.  Especially if the lady you're addressing is pregnant.

Still Not Feeling Good

It happened again last night.  Three hours of contractions along with not feeling good.  Clearly, I couldn't sleep through all that.  I grabbed my phone and started timing my contractions for a couple hours.  They were 10-12 minutes for an hour then started spacing out.  By 5am they were 25-30 apart so I could fall asleep in between at least.  By 6 both kids were awake and my body was screaming for some sleep.  I laid down until 7 and then took a shower.  I felt a lot better in the shower, until I got out.  I was so sick I had to lay down again.  By 7:30 I gave in and started calling subs.  My amazing teammate found everything around my classroom for the sub so I didn't even have to go in at all.

I let the kids play until 8:30.  They got ready and I dropped them each off at school at 9:00.  It was such a strange feeling leaving them there at their schools and driving away with nothing to do.  I got home and laid on the couch and must have been sleeping in seconds.  Two hours later I woke up.  I laid with my eyes closed for half an hour.  Finally got up and folded a couple loads of laundry and then fell asleep sitting up watching TV.  I slept nearly four hours of the 6 the kids were at school.  I did get the laundry folded and put away in there.  I slept until 3:12 when V needs to be picked up at 3:40.

The main problem is, when I eat I get really really sick.  Obviously, I need to eat or at least feed the growing baby inside of me.  But good grief, how long is this going to go on for?  I'm not sure if I have a touch of the flu or what.  If you google preterm labor signs it says, "Signs of the flu."

Clearly, the signs are confusing.  I'm obviously not in preterm labor since the contractions keep stopping, however it sure seems like it in the middle of the night.

I'm off to sleep. . .Hoping tonight is a peaceful night of rest!

John and Tegan's Wedding

Two weeks ago my brother in law married his high school sweetheart.
(Never mind they broke up for a few years in there)
It was a beautiful day of celebration!!
This is my favorite picture from the reception.
They were looking right into each other's eyes.
They didn't seem to notice the 250 people standing around them.

My new sister in law
and my cousin -
who might as well be my sister in law.
(Also Baby #3 - hard to tell I'm even pregnant - right?? ;-)

The guys singing You've Lost That Loving Feeling to Tegan.
I love how Mark is so into it right in front.

Victoria just about done getting her hair done.

The is my favorite group shot.
Love all of us together at the end of the night.
Can you tell who is the most sober of the group?
Like my flip flops?
I tried on 5 different pairs of shoes and couldn't get my feet into a single pair!

At the hotel before the wedding.

Before the wedding at Rice Park.
Oh my gosh, they were so darn cute!!!!
They were like a prince and princess.

Looking out the window from the St. Paul Hotel
down to the street.
They looked adorable from every angle.

Holding his sister's flowers.
I love that he's not smiling.
He just looks adorable!

Tegan getting ready in her Bridal Suite.
So glad we got to be a part of it.
That was my favorite part of the whole day.
Watching her so calm and care-free
and sure of her decision to marry John.
It was hard for me to hold back the tears watching her memories be made.

Victoria was admiring Tegan's dress.

Christian eating Papa's dinner.
The children's meals were not the best.
Even Christian wouldn't eat it.
It didn't seem like Papa minded though:-)

Heading out of the hotel to take pictures.
Doesn't she look so excited??
I love that Christian is in the mix with all those pretty girls.
Pretty sure he didn't mind one bit either.

There's Christian calm and relaxed;-)

LOVE that picture!!

One of my top five of all 500!

A five year old in a tux.
Can he get any cuter?

Another fabulous one -
if I do say so myself;-)

After they took a few pictures with the photographer I brought them back in the hotel since it was about 12 degrees out.
We walked around the hotel and found some cute spots to take some cute shots.

Waiting for the elevator.
They were so calm and relaxed.
Wish I could have said the same for myself!

What kid doesn't love a revolving door?
Apparently, that kid really loves them!

Finally at the church.
Parking was a you know what.
I ended up having to go in, drop them off with Mark's cousin, go back out and look for a parking spot for another 20 minutes until I finally parked illegally because I was so darn desperate to get in there!

LOVE this picture!
Doesn't she look like an angel?

Another angel?
Is that what you'd call that look on his face? ;-)

Christian and Uncle Guy
both looking handsome!

Christian and Papa.
Both looking dapper.

Daddy with his two kids.
I was so proud to have them all.

Papa and Victoria.

Mark walking down the aisle with Tegan's pregnant sister in law.

Victoria and Christian walking down the aisle hand in hand.
Tears were flowing down my face so fast I totally couldn't see them so I just kept clicking away!

I was taking pictures of Tegan walking down the aisle and looked over my shoulder at John to see him smiling at her like this.
I turned away from the bride to capture that look on his face for her.
That's a look every girl dreams of seeing.

Victoria stood on the pew.
She didn't want to miss any part of the ceremony.

Her dress was beautiful.
Watching them together, holding hands, looking into each other's eyes,
I never wanted to moment to end for them.

The Vows

It's official!
Add another Humphrey to the clan!
No turnin' back now Tegan!

After the ceremony we were waiting for pictures.
Victoria picked up a hymnal and started reading.
She was so gorgeous.

Walking back up the aisle following the Bride and Groom.

Hugging her brand new Aunt Tegan after the ceremony!

Is it time to dance yet?

We have a picture like that from our wedding.
I need to dig it out.

I love this family picture.
It will probably be the last just the four of us.

Aunt Tegan and her Flower Girl.
They looked so cute together!
It makes me wish for a daughter for her....
some day....
soon.

Johnny and his Ring Bearer.
Finally, Christian's relaxed a bit.

Victoria and her cousin Emilee.

Outside the church doors.
St. Cate's church is gorgeous!

Christian and Mama Jeanne

Victoria and Christian with Aunt Joan

Overall the day was a complete success.
John and Tegan are happily married and have returned from their Hawaiian Honeymoon.
We will all have memories of their gorgeous day forever.

We are so blessed to have been such a special part in it.
